Potash washed off by rain.. Ouch!.. Nobody ever said farming is easy, did they?

Since almonds are high in potassium. So, because of all the potassium that they take away, we need to replenish the soil with the same amount. 

The first pic shows the bands of potassium sulfate fertilizer just after application on Jan 11. The second picture was taken on Jan 21 after 2+ inches of rain over the preceding days and it was continuing to rain. As  you can see, the city was out re-staking the area where they are going to do the sewer pipe improvement. 

Note: Potash is any water soluble salt (mined or manufactured) that contain potassium. The name derives from "pot ash", which refers to plant ashes soaked in water in a pot, the primary means of manufacturing the product before the industrial era. The word "potassium" is derived from potash. Not the other way around.
